GRILLED MARINATED TUNA STEAKS

FRESH TUNA STEAK INGREDIENTS
  • 4 tuna steaks
MARINADE:
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • Pinch dried red pepper flakes
  • 6 thin slices peeled fresh ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
FRESH TUNA STEAK RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
Combine marinade ingredients in non-aluminum baking dish and add tuna steaks. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour, but not more than 6 hours. Turn once or twice. Bring fish to room temperature. Grill on preheated grill or broil in preheated broiler 4" from heat. Baste while cooking and turn once. Cook about 5 minutes each side. Do not over cook. Serves 4.

Swordfish, salmon or mahi mahi may be substituted for tuna.

TUNA STEAKS WITH CREAMY SHRIMP SAUCE

FRESH TUNA STEAK INGREDIENTS
  • 1 c. Italian salad dressing
  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. tarragon leaves
  • 2 lbs. tuna steaks (1 inch thick)
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1 c. chopped green onions
  • 1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
  • 1 c. cream cheese
  • 1 c. half & half cream
  • 1 c. chopped, cooked shrimp
  • 2 tbsp. chopped parsley
FRESH TUNA STEAK INSTRUCTIONS
Combine salad dressing, lemon juice, garlic powder, red pepper, and tarragon leaves in a 2-quart mixing bowl. Blend thoroughly. Add tuna steaks to the blended marinade sauce, coating each steak thoroughly with the sauce. Cover tuna steaks and refrigerate at least 2 hours or preferably overnight. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Remove tuna steaks from marinade sauce and place in 2-quart casserole dish. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes, turning steaks once.

In a 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions, green onions, and bell pepper. Saute until onions are clear. Add cream cheese and half & half. Stir over low heat until cream cheese melts and sauce thickens. Add chopped shrimp and parsley to sauce.

Blend thoroughly and cook sauce over low heat until tuna steaks are removed from oven. Remove steaks from oven. Drain liquids from casserole. Pour shrimp sauce over tuna steaks. Place steaks in oven and bake an additional 10 minutes. Serves 6...Enjoy the tuna steak !

FRESH TUNA STEAKS WITH MUSTARD BUTTER

FRESH TUNA STEAK INGREDIENTS
  • 2 boneless tuna steaks (1/4 lb. each)
  • 1 tbsp. each: reduced-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp. whipped butter, softened and divided
  • 1/2 tsp. powdered mustard

FRESH TUNA STEAK INSTRUCTIONS
In a container (not aluminum) that is large enough to hold tuna in a single layer, arrange tuna. Combine soy sauce, vinegar and ginger; pour over tuna. Let stand 5 minutes; turn tuna over and let stand 5 minutes longer.

In a cup or small bowl, combine 2 teaspoons butter and the mustard; mix until combined. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Melt the remaining teaspoon of butter and brush on the tuna steaks. Place on a heated grill for about 2 minutes; turn tuna over and drizzle with any remaining marinade. Cook 2 minutes longer.

Serve steaks topped with the butter/mustard mixture. This is a great way to use Market Day fresh tuna steaks! Makes 2 servings...enjoy it !

TUNA STEAKS WITH ROASTED RED PEPPER SAUCE

An amazing fresh tuna steak recipe to try ! Simply serve this savory, roasted red pepper sauce over grilled or broiled finfish (tuna, swordfish, mahi mahi or any variety of finfish).
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 yellowfin tuna steaks (about 1 1/2 pounds)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Freshly grated pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup canned roasted red bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1 tablespoon canned tomato paste
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Parsley sprigs, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Brush fresh tuna with olive oil; sprinkle with pepper to taste. For every inch (in thickness) of tuna steak, broil or grill for 10 minutes. Turn once to cook evenly. Purée roasted red bell pepper, green onion, tomato paste, garlic clove and pepper flakes in a blender or food processor. Serve sauce over cooked tuna; garnish with parsley. Ingredients:
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
  • Juice of a lemon
  • Fresh Tuna steaks (approximately 2 lb)
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 1tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil 3-4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
Method: Combine all the ingredients for marination in a large mixing bowl. Mix till well blended. Wash and clean the fresh tuna steak and place in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour. Cook on a greased skillet, cooking each side for approximately 5 minutes. The fresh tuna steak recipe is ready to serve...enjoy it !

Ingredients

* 1 fresh tuna steak
* 1 baking potato
* 3 florets of organic broccoli
* 2 small knobs of butter
* 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
* 1 wedge of organic, unwaxed lemon
* Seasoning, to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (gas mark 6).
2. Wash baking potato and broccoli florets.
3. Pierce the potato skin lightly several times with a knife and place in preheated oven for 45 minutes – 1 hour (around this time, spear with a cocktail stick to check how tender it is – the stick will slide in and out cleanly when the potato is ready).
4. Season the fresh tuna steak with freshly ground black pepper and a good squeeze of lemon juice, brush each side with the oil.
5. Five to ten minutes before the potato is baked, place the fresh tuna steak onto a searingly hot griddle or frying pan.
6. At this time, plunge the broccoli florets into a pan of lightly salted, boiling water.
7. Sear both sides of the fresh tuna steak for around 3-4 minutes (Most chefs only sear the outside of the fresh tuna steak, leaving it very pink in the middle, but many people prefer to cook it more thoroughly and children will be likely to prefer it this way)
8. After 5-7 minutes, or when tender, drain the broccoli florets well and toss in a small knob of butter.
9. Add butter to the baked potato and season to taste.
10. Place the baked potato, broccoli and fresh tuna steak on a large plate and serve. Nice ! Enjoy it !

Ingredients

  • 16 oz rotini, twists or spirals - uncooke, d
  • 12 oz fresh tuna steak, cooked
  • 3 tbsp olive or vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp dijon-style mustard
  • 6 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 grated rind of 3 limes - finely cho, pped
  • 6 fresh parsley sprigs - chopped
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried dill weed
  • 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 cup green beans, julienne - blanched
  • 2/3 cup red onion - pared, thinly sliced
INSTRUCTIONS

Break tuna into small bite-size pieces; reserve. Cook pasta; drain and rinse with cold water. Combine all dressing ingredients; mix well.
Toss together pasta, peppers, beans, onions, tuna and dressing. If possible, refrigerate salad overnight to allow flavors to blend. The fresh tuna steak recipe is ready to serve cold.
